Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can we bring our own items, like shampoo or toothpaste?
A: What we have learned over the past 20 years of building hygiene kits is that these items are treated like medical supplies when being shipped. They are highly controlled to ensure shipments do not get rejected. We follow standard guidelines to certify your hard work of building kits will reach those in need.
Q: Can I choose where my kits go?
A: PowrServ kits are distributed locally, domestically and internationally. A group can decide which of these three communities their kits will go to benefit.
Q: What costs are associated with the event?
A: Events at your location start at $5,000. Event costs include shipping, logistics, event management, and all of the products for the kits. PowrServ events benefit Heart to Heart International, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, and considered tax-deductible.
Q: Are there any restrictions on age or disability?
A: Volunteers have ranged from 5 to 95 years old. The assembly line has specific seated positions suited for people with disabilities or using a wheelchair/walker, as well as dedicated tasks suited for children.
Q: When and where can events be held?
A: PowrServ events can be held conveniently at the location of your choice. For example: community center, gymnasium, office or conference/hotel space. Events can last an hour or span several hours, depending on how many people and the size of your budget.
Q: How many people can participate?
